He studied with Fong Ha – a widely respected Instructor that resided in Berkeley\, CA – who taught world-wide. Jay was certified to teach Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan by Fong Ha in 2012. Beginning in 2014\, Jay began teaching to help spread the benefits of Tai Chi Chuan. His experience with teaching Yang style includes form work\, applications\, push hands\, saber\, sword\, and meditation\, as well as Yiquan\, and Qigong. SUMMARY:Free Tai Chi in the Park (Tarnhill Park) – In-Person Class (weather permitting)
DESCRIPTION:Class Description:\n\n\n\nJoin us for a free Tai Chi class!  In this class we will practice the Yang Style Long Form\, the Yang Style Short Form\, and the Yang 24-Form.  Tai Chi in the Park is about flexibility.  Join us for the entire two hours\, or only for part of it (same price either way).  If you don’t know one of the forms\, this is your chance to try it.  We will practice Tai Chi Ruler\, the Eight Brocades\, Short & Long Yi Jin Jing\, Tai Chi walking\, as well as the forms.Classes are on the softball field infield or on grass.  Shade is limited\, so bring water and dress for the weather.  In the event of (heavy) rain\, class may be held virtually on Zoom. \n\n\n\nInstructor Biographies:\n\n\n\nMark Haerle:\n\n\n\nMark began studying Tai Ji Quan and Yi Quan in 2004. He is a student of Grand Master Fong Ha\, a distinguished practitioner of Tai Ji Quan and Yi Quan. Mark was certified to teach by Grand Master Fong Ha in 2012. Mark has studied the traditional Yang style forms including the Long Form (108 moves)\, saber form and sword form. \n\n\n\nJay Soderberg:\n\n\n\n\n\nJay Soderberg has been studying Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong since 2006. He has studied several Yang style forms during this time\, including the traditional Long Form (108 moves)\, the 24-Form\, and Chen Man Ching’s 37-Form. He has studied with Grand Master Fong Ha—a widely respected Instructor living in Berkeley\, CA—who teaches world-wide. Jay has been certified to teach Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan by Fong Ha since 2012. Since then\, Jay has been assisting his teacher\, Keith Root. Jay also began teaching in other communities in 2014 to help spread the benefits of Tai Chi Chuan. DESCRIPTION:Class Description\n\n\n\nThe Yang Style Forms class is a student driven\, virtual class.  New students can learn new moves in their form and/or deepen the Tai Chi experience.  Continuing students will be able to refine their form and learn the subtleties of Tai Chi Chuan. We may study multiple forms – Chang Man Ching 37-Move form\, 24-Form\, or Yang Style Long (108) Form. \n\n\n\nYang style is the most popular style around the world and is easy to learn and has many health benefits.
